A lake town in south Hall County

Flowery Branch sits on the shores of Lake Lanier and was incorporated in 1903 (New Georgia Encyclopedia: Flowery Branch). The Corps of Engineers' master plan places it on the lake's east side, and the Atlanta Falcons' training complex is here as well (New Georgia Encyclopedia: Hall County).

Flowery Branch has grown into a busy mix of lake neighborhoods, subdivisions toward Chestnut Mountain and Spout Spring, and older properties near the old downtown. Tell us about HOA rules, gates, or tight cul-de-sacs when you submit your vehicle.

Boats, jet skis, and the second car

A lake community collects boats. If yours hasn't been in the water in a few seasons, or you've traded up, it can be a good donation. We pick boats and personal watercraft up on their trailers rather than off the water. Tell us whether the trailer has its own tag and whether the boat was ever issued a paper title.

The other common Flowery Branch donation is the extra car that was kept "just in case" and now just sits. Dead battery or expired tag is fine; let us know the condition and we'll take it from there.

Hall County tag office and Georgia title steps

Flowery Branch is in Hall County. Georgia titles and registrations are handled by each county's tax commissioner, which runs the local tag office. For Hall County, that is the Hall County Tax Commissioner. Check that office's site for current hours and locations; Georgia DOR keeps a statewide list of county tag offices. In most donations you won't need to visit at all: you sign the title and we handle the transfer paperwork.

Boats and personal watercraft. Boats are not titled at the county tag office. Georgia DNR's Wildlife Resources Division has issued electronic boat titles since July 1, 2020. When a registered boat changes hands, DNR says the owner reports the sale within 15 days and gives a detailed bill of sale; if a paper boat title was issued, it must be signed over. Personal watercraft are registered on the same vessel form, and boat trailers do not need a Georgia title. (Georgia DNR: boat registration and eTitles)

Signing the title. Georgia DOR says the owner completes the assignment on the back of the original title, in blue or black ink, and that alterations or erasures can void it. Every owner listed on the front signs. Never hand over a title signed in blank; Georgia law treats that as a misdemeanor. We mark exactly which lines are yours before pickup. (Georgia DOR: transferring a Georgia title)

Your license plate. In Georgia the plate stays with you, not the vehicle, so take it off before the tow truck arrives. You can move it to another vehicle you get at your county tag office. Cancel the registration online through DRIVES e-Services or with Form MV-18J before you drop insurance; DOR fines coverage lapses on a vehicle that is still registered. (Georgia DOR: cancelling a registration)

Questions we hear from Flowery Branch donors

Can you pick up a boat from my Flowery Branch driveway or storage unit?

Yes, as long as the boat is on a trailer and the truck can reach it. Georgia boats are registered and electronically titled through Georgia DNR, so tell us the registration number.

My extra car has an expired tag and a dead battery. Can I still donate it?

Yes. Expired registration and a dead battery are common. Tell us if it rolls and steers so we can send the right truck.

Which tag office handles Flowery Branch?

The Hall County Tax Commissioner. For most donations you will not need to visit; you sign the title where we show you and we handle the paperwork.

Do I need to be home for the pickup?

Not always. We confirm access, keys, and the signed title with you before the tow is booked, and the driver follows that plan.
