How we research, review and correct.

This policy explains who is responsible for our content, which sources we trust, how automation is used, and how to report something that needs correction.

Published and last materially reviewed: July 17, 2026

Editorial responsibility

Cars Helping Kids is a program of Fainting Goat Foundation Co Inc. The organization—not an outside content farm—is responsible for the information published on this site. Our editorial owner is Cars Helping Kids / Fainting Goat Foundation. Questions and corrections go to [email protected] or 770-871-9422.

What we publish

We publish practical information about donating vehicles, pickup, titles, IRS documentation, and our own process. Tax, legal, DMV, and towing rules can change and can depend on facts we do not know. Our articles are general information, not individualized tax or legal advice.

Source standards

  • Federal tax claims should point to the IRS, including current forms, instructions, publications, or official guidance.
  • State title and transfer claims should point to the applicable DMV, revenue department, or other official state source.
  • Claims about our legal identity should be verifiable through IRS records or another public registry.
  • Program results, donor stories, ratings, and financial percentages are not published as facts unless we can document them.
  • Commercial comparison pages must distinguish verifiable facts from opinion and disclose relevant relationships.

AI and automation

We use software and generative AI as drafting and production tools. Automation can help organize source material, find broken links, generate page components, and suggest wording. It is not a source of truth.

Material claims are expected to be checked against the underlying source before a page is presented as reviewed. A date is changed only when content receives a meaningful update; we do not refresh dates merely to appear current. Large groups of templated pages are kept out of search results until each page offers independently useful, reviewed information.

Corrections and updates

If you find a factual error, broken official source, misleading statement, accessibility problem, or outdated requirement, email us with the page URL and the specific passage. We will investigate the source, correct substantiated errors, and update the page's review date when the change is material. Urgent donor-service issues should be handled by phone rather than through an editorial request.

Independence and links

Links to government or independent verification sites are provided so readers can check us. Links to other projects operated by our web team are labeled separately and do not represent nonprofit programs, endorsements, or evidence of authority. We do not sell ranking, paid-follow links, or reciprocal-link placements.
